How organizer refund fees work
Organizer-friendly refund policy: what TicketSmart waives, what Stripe can still cost, and when a billing card is required.
When you trigger a Stripe refund from TicketSmart, TicketSmart waives its own platform fee for the refunded scope. Your remaining choice is only how Stripe processing is handled.
- Organizer covers Stripe: the buyer gets the full selected refund and your workspace absorbs only the Stripe processing share
- Deduct Stripe fee: the buyer refund is reduced only by the Stripe processing share, while TicketSmart still waives its own fee
- TicketSmart does not use your saved billing card to cover TicketSmart fees, principal shortfalls, or transfer-reversal failures
Organizer-covered Stripe fees are recovered in this order: existing fee balance, future eligible sales, and then a saved billing card if you have explicitly enabled refund recovery.
