What the buyer sees
Paid checkouts show the ticket subtotal, the TicketSmart platform fee, the payment processing estimate, and any tax or organizer-added fee configured for the event.
What the organizer keeps
Organizers keep the ticket revenue. TicketSmart retains the platform fee on paid sales and shows payment processing separately, so face-value ticket math stays clear. On organizer-triggered Stripe refunds, TicketSmart waives its platform-fee share for refunded scope.
What changes with credits
Credits only reduce the TicketSmart platform-fee slice. They do not replace payment processor fees, tax, or any organizer-added fee that the event is charging.

Buyers pay a TicketSmart platform fee of 2% with a £0.45 minimum per ticket. Card processing is estimated separately and grossed up into the checkout total.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who pays the fee — me or the buyer?
By default, buyers pay the 2% platform fee on top of your ticket price — so you keep 100% of face value. You can switch to absorb mode per event if you'd rather include the fee in your price.
Are free events really free?
Yes. Free events have no platform fee and no processing fee. You can create unlimited free events at no cost. Free ticket types on any event have no platform fee. The fee applies only to paid ticket types on the same event.
How do payouts work?
Funds go directly to your Stripe account via Stripe Connect. Stripe pays out on a rolling basis — typically next business day. TicketSmart never holds your money.
What happens if I need to refund a ticket?
When you trigger a refund through TicketSmart, we waive our platform fee for the refunded amount. Stripe's processing fee policy applies separately.
What currencies do you support?
USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, SEK, DKK, NOK, CZK, PLN, and RSD. Each currency has its own per-ticket minimum fee floor.
Do I need a Stripe account?
Yes, for paid events. You can connect a Stripe account in about 5 minutes during event setup. Free events don't require Stripe.
