Connect a Telegram bot to your workspace

Bring your own Telegram bot to run event management commands directly from a Telegram chat.

The Telegram agent bot lets you run event management commands (create events, publish, set up discount codes) from any Telegram chat you control. It is a command-driven tool — you send a command and get a reply. It does not push notifications like new-order alerts.

Set up your bot

  1. 1In Telegram, open @BotFather and create a new bot. Copy the bot token it gives you.
  2. 2In TicketSmart, go to your Box Office Settings and click Telegram Agent Bot.
  3. 3Paste the bot token and click Connect.
  4. 4Click Generate Link Code. Choose a role (OWNER, OPERATOR, or VIEWER) and an expiry.
  5. 5Open your Telegram bot and send /link <CODE>. The chat is now linked.

Chat roles

  • OWNER and OPERATOR — can run live commands that make changes
  • VIEWER — can only run /dryrun simulations (no changes are made)
  • Roles are assigned per linked chat, not per user
  • You can revoke any chat's access at any time from the Linked Chats table in settings
